How is it, then that small children are drawn to the cheerful yellow luminescence of these flowers, gathering the abundantly brilliant 'stars' to create golden crowns and necklaces. And if a bouquet is thrust forward in a chubby little hand, we don't recoil with disgust, but warmly accept the precious gift with a smile. Could there be some special promise in these resilient, omnipresent beacons? A promise of love that is passed from person to person, planting seeds in the heart that one day bloom and spread to plant seeds in the hearts of others.

Daniel Finds His Walking Stick is a collage of memories from a man suffering from Alzheimeru2019s. It is a funny and sad portrait of the plight of an aging lonely man in a changing world. His wife, Lydia, has been gone for 25 years and his son Lester, for 15. However, these facts are mostly lost to Daniel as he lives in a fusion of his memories and current day. Culminating in his accounting of all the funerals he has attended and the revelation of a note left on his door, Danielu2019s predicament is heartbreaking.
