In a noisy city far from home, where music is the sole means of communication, a lonely janitor sleepwalks through his menial duties. Unnoticed and unappreciated, he quietly longs for the people and places he has left behind, but ultimately finds solace in solitude.Blending composite photographs with hand-drawn illustration, u201CLevu201D straddles the porous line between live action and animation, real emotion and surreal character. Pixellated photographs of live action actors and props were first digitally composited together, creating the surrealistic half-human, half-radio cast of characters. These composites were then printed out and inked by hand to create a boldly illustrated look. Finally, the photographs were cut out frame by frame and shot on 35mm film.

Welcome to the 2008 South Beach International Animation Festival!
The South Beach International Animation Festival celebrates animation film and other cartoon art forms with screenings and special events taking place at a variety of venues around Miami Beach and Miami Dade County. In addition to juried film screenings, the Festival hosts art exhibits, hands-on demonstrations, seminars, and discussions.

Set in one of the world’s best locations for sun and fun, this is a great destination for a family vacation. Whether it's the art you love, learning about the latest technology, a relaxing day on the beach or dancing till dawn, there will be fun for everyone.

The Festival runs from April 3 - 6th, 2008, giving visitors mild springtime temperatures in the day and balmy tropical nights. So, save the dates, book your trip and we'll see you at our festival, because everyone loves the "Toons".
